With the outbreak of COVID-19, we understand how critical it is to protect the physical health of ourselves and others. Are we also considering how vital it is to protect our mental health?
We know that our mental health has a huge impact on our overall well being. We’re starting to see that the pandemic has magnified many mental health struggles across all socioeconomic classes. A recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll found that 56% of all US adults report that worry or stress related to the coronavirus outbreak has caused them to experience at least one negative effect on their mental health and well being.
How can we protect and improve our mental health?
Natalie Remund recently connected with Dawn Finn, a transformational speaker and coach in Pelican Rapids. Throughout their video conversation, Dawn shares ways to help both employers and employees during a stressful situation. This includes:
- recognizing the power of our thoughts and the stories we tell ourselves
- realizing the importance of connection
- creating an environment for employee communication and collaboration
- establishing a daily routine
- using humor for stress relief
Most importantly, Dawn and Natalie offer reassurance that it’s okay to admit that you’re struggling. No one has this all figured out!
